All Froth No Latte…

I’m deep into veil research….. a certain someone bride needs a very special veil and I have the honor and privilege of helping on that front! White and frothy, not too fussy, not too too but just too enough.  Sounds like the recipe for a perfect latte, tall, white extra froth no whip.

Taking a very unofficial poll among noted bridal designers, the consensus seems that when it comes to veils you wear (or eschew) what you love, what makes you feel like a bride—- don’t bow to trends, fads or the wishes of others. So there!

So long, or short?

Trimmed edge or plain?

Lace appliqued or not?

Vintage or modern?

Mantilla? Cathedral? Fingertip?

Thoughts from the veil front, discuss among yourselves please….

From Pronovias (above)—– full lace veil and modified cathedral with triple edge and attached blusher.

$49 from PowderBlueBijoux on Etsy

Birdcage style, vintage inspired with a modern touch—- no blowing veils in those photos for sure!

Mantilla style (above)….. alencon lace edged. Traditional, no pouffery.

More pouf….. still in the birdcage style—– larger vintage inspired mesh size in the front, triple layer of tulle. Does this put the Too in Too Too?

Johanna Johnson Ophelia Veil, Cathedral $1045.

Or the yummy froth of the Ophelia veil from Johanna Johnson—– simple non bound edge with a close cap of tulle and sparkly elements. Definitely a veil where the dress really matters!

Cathedral length from Monique L'Hullier

I’m especially fond of the above veil from Monique L’Hullier—— a long, very fine veil uninterrupted by any froth or bubble. Beautiful.

There are a lot of veils out there….. a lot. From a lot of sources. Best tips are to try them on with your gown, don’t give into pressure to wear or not to wear– you be the one that gets to choose. However, if you were to ask your photographer, they’d almost certainly tell you that in the right location, they surely do add to lovely photos!
