Happy Pride Month

It’s June which means it’s Pride Month!

Here at BBP we celebrate everyday that LOVE IS LOVE!

Everyone deserves their love story to be told

and we embrace every story.

The month of June was chosen for LGBTQ+ Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBTQ+ people have had in the world. Brenda Howard is known as the “Mother of Pride”, for her work in coordinating the first LGBTQ+ Pride march, and she also originated the idea for a week-long series of events around Pride Day which became the genesis of the annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations that are now held around the world every June. From the Urban Dictionary:     love is love

“It’s not about the sex or gender of the person but how they treat you! So, as long as you’re getting the love and affection that you need to be happy in love then it doesn’t and/or shouldn’t matter what gender is loving you.”
If you’d like to catch a parade and join in the celebration, there are hundreds going on around the country, you can check out the calendar HERE. Of note in the South are Lowcountry Pride on June 22,  Augusta GA June 21-24, Savannah Pride October 24—- but find festivities hear you!
Love is Love!
