Like everyone in the wedding world, both couples and wedding pros, the world stopped for a little bit while decisions were made about how to have weddings, when to have them, where to have them and what in the actual world they’d look like.
Small weddings and micro weddings are NOT new. They’ve been around as long as couples have been eloping with one more person than themselves! But the small wedding and micro wedding ‘thing’ was certainly kicked up more than a few notches by Covid 19.
Melissa + Victor had been planning a large wedding at a beautiful hotel in Savannah—- and we were excited to celebrate with them. Until things changed. The ceremony took place with a small group of friends and family on Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island, and along the sandy shoreline they said I Do, Melissa + Victor planned their Jekyll Island Small Wedding!
Their ceremony was meaningful and there were more than a few shed tears among their guests for this much loved couple. The backdrop of the surf coming in to those iconic trees on the beach was as beautiful as they were.
You know what the very best part is?
We’re going to do it all again————– because once this virus is contained, Melissa and Victor are GOING to have their wedding at the Savannah hotel they’d originally planned on! We are SO excited to celebrate once again with them, it’s going to be so great!
Melissa + Victor, we do wish you a lifetime of much deserved love and joy but we will tell you that in person—- with a hug!
Haven’t you missed hugging as much as we have???? C’mon 2021, bring us back the people and the hugs and all of the good stuff!
